Always tell someone where you are going!
Basic winter survival course (protocol) before any adventures.
Safety First!
This includes: 4 to 5 hours of skidoo riding(mostly in daylight hours)
Preparation Prior Trip
- equipment
- clothing
- first aid kit
- fill & check gas tank & take extra gas / oil, skidoo belt, some tools
- snowshoes, shovel, ropes, axe, matches, small saw, come along
- flash light, flare gun, bear spray, cell phone & sat phone or in reach communicator
- proper sled to pull behind in good working order
- ideal snowmobile for bush trails: skandics swt, wt or bravos with narrow ski base

- How To Make Camp Fires Safety In Wilderness In Ideal Location
- Snow Shoeing
- Camp Fire, Cookout
- Ice Fishing
- Exploring On A Trapline
- How To Set Traps & Snares Safely( Different Methods)
- When In The Bush Always Beware Of Possible Traplines
- Night Skidoo Rides Viewing Northern Lights (Weather Permitting)
Always Wear Appropriate Clothing For Weather Conditions
- insulated duffle rubber boots – steel toe footwear for the conditions
- scarf , proper mitts, balaclava, snowsuit or parka
- take extra dry clothes:
- socks
- thermal underwear kept in water proof bag
- knee pads and a tarp are extras that are most useful
- always take a thermos of hot tea or hot chocolate & water and appropriate food
When travelling beware of your surroundings. lakes and creeks and bush travelling can be hazardous. keep a safe distance between each other but always check on the person behind you.
Clean up after yourself! take garbage back with you for disposal! keep the land clean!
Bush trail riding is always at a slower speed!
